What is Second Stroll?

Second Stroll is your trusted source for new and quality-checked gently used strollers, car seats, and essential baby items. Alongside offering the latest in baby gear, we’re proud to be the only retailer in the region that buys and sells gently used and inspected products, eliminating the risks associated with buying used gear privately. We provide high-quality items from top brands at affordable prices, all while championing sustainability by giving these essentials a second life.

Do you have a physical retail location?

We're excited to be opening a retail location in Los Angeles, California! While we're gearing up and getting everything ready for you to stroll in, you can still shop with us online. If you're eyeing a stroller or car seat and want to see it in person before making a decision, just send us an email to hello@second-stroll.com and we'll be happy to arrange a test-drive for you.

How are you different from a thrift store?

Thrifting can be fun- but is a gamble when it comes to baby gear- one parents can't afford to lose. Unlike thrift stores, we carefully curate our collection of gently used items- ensuring we only accept items we'd trust for our own families. Every item we sell undergoes a rigorous safety inspection and deep clean, and comes with a money back guarantee so you can feel confident in your purchase.

Can I shop in person?

Our Los Angeles retail location will be opening soon, but in the meantime, you can still shop with us online!

Think you know what you want? Take a stroll—literally! If you are local to Los Angeles, reach out to us to give our strollers a test drive and see which one gets your kiddo’s seal of approval. Our team is here to guide you, but the real test pilot is the one drooling in the backseat.

Do you only sell used items?

We specialize in both new and new-to-you baby gear. While our main focus is on sustainability and offering gently used or open-box items, we also carry a selection of brand-new products from our favorite brands. This way, you can find both high-quality, pre-loved gear and the latest in baby essentials all in one place!

How are used items cleaned?

We meticulously clean and sanitize all gently used items we resell, following industry best practices. We adhere to manufacturer guidelines to ensure the integrity of each product remains intact.

How are used items priced?

Our pricing is carefully determined based on a few key factors: the brand, condition, age, and current market value of the item. We aim to offer you the best possible value while ensuring our prices reflect the quality and longevity of each product.

Are prices of used items negotiable?

To keep providing our customers access to the best brands at affordable prices, we carefully price each item to reflect its quality and value, and therefore our prices for used items are set and not negotiable. However, we do run promotions and suggest joining our mailing list to stay in the know about deeper deals on reliable wheels (and lots of other great steals)!

Does the manufacturers warranty apply on used items?

Unfortunately, manufacturer warranties do not apply to secondhand items.

All NEW items we sell have a manufacturer warranty.

How do I know if a product I purchased is recalled?

There are a few ways to find out if a product has been recalled.

  • Register the product: Whether it’s brand new or new to you, it’s important to register your purchase with the manufacturer. This way, you'll be promptly notified in case of a recall. New products will come with a registration postcard, or the packaging may direct you to a form on the manufacturer’s website. You can still register without this by searching for the model name or the term “register” on the manufacturer’s website.

How do I know the used products I purchase are safe?

At Second Stroll, we take your child's safety seriously. Every item we sell undergoes a thorough inspection to ensure it meets our high safety standards. Our team carefully examines each product for recalls, wear and tear, and overall functionality before it hits our shelves. We also require sellers to certify that their car seats and strollers have never been involved in an accident. While buying secondhand comes with some risks, we're committed to making sure that each item we resell is as safe as possible for your family. Safety Disclosure

Is it safe to buy a used car seat?

A used car seat can be purchased safely if it meets strict criteria. Each seat is meticulously inspected for any signs of damage, wear, or recalls. We also collect a full history from the first and only owner of the car seat and have them sign a legal attestation certifying the seat has never been in an accident.

Do you accept returns and exchanges for secondhand items?

Our secondhand item return policy is designed to ensure your satisfaction while maintaining the quality of our products:

For secondhand items:

  • Damaged or Incorrect Items: If your item arrives damaged, with missing parts, or doesn't match the description, please contact us within 72 hours of receipt. We’ll provide a prepaid shipping label for you to return the item, and once received, we’ll issue a full refund.
  • Change of Mind: If you change your mind after purchase, you can return the item within 10 days of receipt, provided it’s in the same condition as when you received it, with no signs of recent use. The item may be returned in person, or shipped back to us at the cost of the customer. A 10% restocking fee will apply to returns not related to damage or discrepancies.

  • How to Initiate a Return: To start the return process, email us at hello@second-stroll.com. Once we receive your item and verify its condition, we’ll process your refund.

Do you accept returns and exchanges for new items?

Our return policy for new items differs slightly from our secondhand item return policy. For new items:

  • Damaged or Incorrect Items: If you receive an item that is damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 72 hours of receipt. We’ll provide a prepaid shipping label for you to return the item, and once received, we’ll issue a full refund or process an exchange for the correct item.
  • Change of Mind: If you change your mind after purchase, you can return the item within 30 days of receipt, provided it’s in the same condition as when you received it, with no signs of recent use. The item may be dropped off in person, or shipped back to us at the cost of the customer. A 10% restocking fee will apply to returns not related to damage or discrepancies.

  • How to Initiate a Return: To start the return process, email us at hello@second-stroll.com. Once we receive your item and verify its condition, we’ll process your refund.

Can I initiate a return after the return window?

Our goal is to make sure you’re happy with your purchase, while also ensuring that all of our gently used items remain in top condition for future customers. Therefore, we are not able to accept returns after the alloted return window. We kindly ask that you inspect your item upon receipt so if a return is needed, it can be processed timely.

How do I sell my stroller or carseat?

Selling your stroller or carseat with us is easy! Here’s how it works:

  1. Complete Our Questionnaire: Start by filling out our simple intake questionnaire, where you’ll provide details about your products brand, condition, and history. Attach a few photos and send!
  2. Review & Offer: Once we review your submission, we'll get back to you with a competitive offer based on the stroller's condition, age, and market value.
  3. Drop Off or Ship: If you accept the offer, you can either drop off your item at our location or ship it to us. We’ll take care of the rest!
  4. Get Paid: After we receive and inspect your stroller or carseat, we’ll issue your payout quickly and hassle-free.

Why do you only accept certain brands?

We want Second Stroll to be your first stop for high-end gear and your trusted experts on the brands in our thoughtfully curated collection. While there are countless, great brands out there, we chose to specialize in a select few of the best. We only accept certain brands to ensure we offer our customers the highest quality and safest products. By focusing on trusted, reputable brands, we can confidently provide gear that meets our strict standards for durability, safety, and overall performance. This way, our customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing they're getting the best for their little ones.

Can I sell my carseat?

We take safety seriously, so we are extra picky when it comes to carseats. Your seat my be eligible for resell if it meets all of the following:

  • You are the original owner of the seat.
  • It has never been in an accident (even a minor one). You will be required to sign a legal document attesting to this.
  • It is not within 2 years of its expiration date.
  • It has not been recalled.
  • It is in gently used condition with all of its original pieces and functionality.
  • It does not have an unpleasant odor, major tears or stains.
  • It has only been cleaned with manufacturer approved products.
  • Original manufacturer stickers must be intact and legible- including serial number and expiration date.

Do you accept anything besides strollers and carseats?

Right now, we're focused on these essentials. As we grow, we'll expand our collections of baby items.

For now, you can shop our store for a variety of NEW baby items.

How is payout price determined?

At Second Stroll, we carefully assess each item to ensure fair and competitive payouts. Our payout price is determined based on several factors, including the brand, model, condition, and current market demand for the item. We take into account the original retail price, the age of the item, and any additional features or accessories that add value. Our goal is to offer you a payout that reflects the true worth of your gently used stroller or car seat, making the process transparent and rewarding for you.

Do you sell on consigment?

At Second Stroll, we aim to make the buying and selling process as straightforward and hassle-free as possible. While consignment models can work for some, we’ve found that directly purchasing items allows us to offer faster payouts and a simpler experience for parents. This approach lets us quickly add high-quality strollers and car seats to our collection, ensuring our customers always have access to the best gear without delay. By focusing on direct purchases, we can maintain a curated selection and provide a seamless, efficient process for everyone involved.

Can I ship my item to you?

The short answer is YES. The longer answer is that you may only ship your item to us after you have completed the Seller's Request Form and photos/video have been submitted and approved. If the item arrives to us other than described/approved, we reserve the right to refuse buyout and the seller will be responsible for any shipping costs associated with getting the item returned to you. Items not collected within 10 days are forfeited to Second Stroll to donate or recycle.

We will not purchase items shipped to us without approval.

Can I trade my item for something else in your shop?

Yes! Once a payout amount is determined and agreed to, you may use that credit toward another item in our secondhand collection.

Seller store credits cannot be applied toward NEW items, however our sellers receive a 10% discount toward their first purchase that can be applied to ANY item in our shop, new or secondhand.

Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Orders will ship within 3 business days (excluding Sundays and Holidays). Shipping times may vary depending on your location and the shipping option you chose at checkout but standard shipping times generally fall within 3 to 7 business days.

You will receive an email confirmation once your order has shipped along with a tracking number.

We also offer free pickup from our Los Angeles warehouse.

Do you ship to PO boxes?

We do not currently ship to PO Boxes.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on orders over $100.

Where do you ship to?

We currently ship anywhere in the United States except Hawaii & Alaska.
